chiropractic care | babies + children

from birth to those teenage years—we love watching your kids develop and grow into amazing humans

With a special focus in the pediatric population, both of our chiropractors have extensive training and experience in the treatment of infants and children. From birth to those teenage years—we love watching your kids develop and grow into amazing humans—it’s actually one of our fave things ever. Having the opportunity to treat them through playground falls, heal after competitive sport, or ease that headache makes us feel just like superheroes (or...super-chiros)!

Chiropractic treatment for infants and children differs significantly from the treatment performed on adults. Our chiropractors use gentle techniques and the lightest fingertip pressure to help ease areas of discomfort and tension in little bodies. Chiropractors may also choose to gently massage the muscles of the spine or stomach to help relieve tightness. Infant adjustments are very gentle and in most cases, a baby will be soothed almost to sleep during treatment. A win-win, in our opinion!

By restoring normal function to the nervous system, chiropractic care can help the body work optimally and efficiently. Care for infants and children often helps a whole heap of issues from jaw tightness and nursing difficulty to digestive issues and developmental delay.

FAQ

If you have any questions about Chiropractic Care for babies and children, please use our chat box, or contact us.

While it seems crazy to think that a new baby would need treatment, we often forget that babies have spines too! And while they are teeny tiny, the time spent in utero as well as the process of labour and delivery may create tightness and dysfunction in areas of the spine and body. This may present as poor sleeping habits, developmental/motor delays, reflux and digestive issues, difficulty breastfeeding and more. Often a newborn baby could have experienced a difficult birthing process or suffered distress during his/her journey through the birth canal. Chiropractic care focuses on easing symptoms and restoring proper healthy function.

Chiropractic adjustments for infants and children differ greatly from those for adults. Using gentle light fingertip pressure, our chiropractors are specially trained to treat pediatrics. Most babies often fall asleep during treatment—parent win!

Whether it’s latching/nursing concerns or digestive issues, to even helping babies reach their developmental milestones - it’s never too early to bring your little one to one of our extensively trained pediatric chiropractors. We work together to help your babes grow and thrive.

Babies are well...babies. From years of combined training and experience, our chiropractors take the time to assess and treat your little one with a loving and caring touch. We take time to listen to you and ask questions about your baby’s health as well as your pregnancy, labour and delivery history. A physical examination includes a general check of range of motion and reflexes and treatment consists of massage and gentle movements ensuring both baby and parent comfort at every step. And although each child responds differently to treatment, most little ones respond positively and favourably to treatment.
